Here's a basic checklist for you to copy and past to help you prepare for a travel photography workshop
Photography Gear:
1. Camera body
2. Lenses (wide-angle, telephoto, prime, etc.)
3. Tripod
4. Camera bag/backpack
5. Lens cleaning kit (cloth, blower, lens cleaning solution)
6. Memory cards
7. Extra camera batteries
8. Battery charger
9. Camera manual (if needed)
10. Remote shutter release (optional)
11. Lens filters (polarizer, ND, etc.)
12. Flash (if needed)
13. Portable hard drive and laptop for backing up photos
Clothing and Personal Items:
1. Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather
2. Rain gear (poncho, umbrella, rain cover for camera)
3. Comfortable walking shoes or boots
4. Hat and sunglasses
5. Sunscreen and insect repellent
6. Personal medications
7. Water bottle
8. Snacks
9. Travel-sized toiletries
10. Travel adapter/converter (if traveling internationally)
Workshop Related Items:
1. Workshop itinerary and schedule
2. Contact information for workshop organizers and fellow participants
3. Notebook and pen for taking notes
4. Any required paperwork or documents (e.g., permits, releases)
5. Printed maps or guidebooks of the area
6. Workshop registration confirmation
Travel Related Essentials:
1. Cash and/or credit/debit cards
2. Travel insurance information
3. Identification (passport, driver's license, etc.)
4. Mobile phone and charger
5. Portable power bank
6. Portable Wi-Fi hotspot (if needed)
7. Emergency contact information
8. Any additional equipment or props required for specific workshop activities
Pre-Departure Tasks:
1. Check camera gear for any issues and ensure everything is in working order.
2. Charge camera batteries and electronic devices.
3. Pack camera gear securely in padded bags or cases.
4. Check the weather forecast for your destination and pack accordingly.
5. Inform someone trustworthy about your travel plans and itinerary.
6. Double-check your packing list to ensure you haven't forgotten anything essential.
