Abosultey amazed

Before Alex's class I was feeling very insecure about how to use my new camera. After our first class Alex encouraged me to go take some pictures and so I did. I was absolutely amazed at what I was now able to accomplish with my photography. After taking just two classes from Alex I am now photographing waterfalls, landscapes and nature just the way I had hoped. I will definitely refer other photographer's to Alex and hope to take additional classes in the future.

thankS for opening the world of photography to me

"I want to thank you for your class and cannot tell you how much I have learned. You present information in a clear concise manner that makes it easy to understand and the exercises put the information to work. I have truly enjoyed the class and think it is in large part due to the way you present it. Thank you for opening the world of photography to me."

RELAXED

Things I enjoyed about the class are: "The relaxed, non confrontational atmosphere. Constructive, but kind criticism. Pleasant and very knowledgeable instructor. Fun people to laugh and socialize with. I appreciate how positive and encouraging you are to students"

–Laura Pounders

A catalyst

"I was a guest on a podcast today and I mentioned you and your photography class that I took five years ago. It was a catalyst for my current career! Thank you!"

HELPFUL AND FUN

"The class is very helpful, and it is fun. I am getting what I hoped to obtain from a basic course, so I am very interested in continuing with your next, intermediate, class. I’ve also enjoyed your website. Your photos are excellent. I like your technique and subjects. Keep doing what you're doing!"

far exceeded expectations

I thoroughly enjoyed our trip! I felt Alex did an outstanding job of preparation and execution throughout the journey. When plans needed to change, the changes were quickly and adequately communicated to the each participant and the suggestions/concerns of all were given more than adequate consideration. The trip far exceeded my expectations and was a pleasure to experience. The travel group bonded well and I enjoyed making several new friendships and renewing some old ones as well. If there were anything I would suggest for next year would be having one more day at the Fiesta itself. It is so overwhelming that it took a bit of time to acclimate and begin to relax and see photo opportunities. I feel one more day would have let me relax and find even more photo ops that, in retrospect, I feel I missed. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I hope to be able to participate again next year.

Great stage presence

Saying thank you is not nearly enough to express how much you mean to me as a friend, colleague, and Expo MC! You have a great stage presence, and I love the professionalism you bring to the show. You killed it! Ha!

Our fearless (mostly) crew of 14 on a twenty five day, 280 mile Colorado River adventure through the Grand Canyon in 2016

Artistic excellence

"Alex was the speaker at a recent meeting of the Arkansas Outdoor Photographers' Club, and he was a hit. We felt like we were there with him in the Grand Canyon for 25 days. Alex’s combination of adventurous lifestyle, artistic excellence and engaging story-telling make for a really good slide show. You know how you’re ready for some presentations to be over before they are? With Alex, we were regretting that he had only 45 minutes. We could have listened to his travel anecdotes and absorbed the beautiful images for hours. Alex is the guy you want to be while you’re toiling away at your day job. But if selling all your stuff and hitting the road in a van is more than you’re up for, listening to Alex for an evening is the next best thing."

Informative at any level

"The class was relaxed and very informative for anyone at any level. At first I was afraid I was going to be the most ignorant student, however I was made to feel very welcome. The class made me feel as though I could take as good a picture as anyone else with enough practice."

–Kelly C

not preachy

"Alex is easy to listen to, and I am glad he is so knowledgable. Alex made me feel like he was on my team. He was not preachy or “above” any ones’ photo. I enjoyed the class."

–Caroline Holt, pro photographer

Open communication

"I like the open communication between Alex and the students. He is always willing to answer any questions. I learned a lot from his class."

–Kati B

$$$ and time well spent

"I found the class very informative, well organized and interesting, money and time well spent. Thank you for keeping it like that, I am sure it can be trying at times and days are sometimes long."

–Jason Van Pelt

“Great class! You were able to answer my questions without me even asking!”

You created a monster!

Did I ever tell you that you are the guy that taught me how to use my first camera back around 2010? I took a beginner class from you at Bedford Camera. You created a monster. LOL! I guess I owe you a big thanks for getting me started. You're very good at what you do.

Dependable and organized

"I recommend Alex Kent to be a dependable and organized person, a knowledgeable photographer, and a diligent worker. I hired Alex as the resource instructor in photography for the required Portfolio II courses for art majors at the University of Central Arkansas. He quickly grasps the essentials of a commitment, communicates easily and well, and completes his duties in a thorough and comprehensive manner."
